Help us Become Authorised
19/02/2007
For the last two months we have been looking into the possibility of becoming authorized by the FSA to give investment advice to our readers.
The process of applying for authorisation basically requires us to submit a business plan, profit and loss forecast, reason for applying etc (more information can be found here). The FSA will also perform checks on our staff to ensure that we are qualified to a high enough standard to enable us to give investment advice to the public.
The drawback to becoming authorized is the fee which can be anywhere from £1500 to £4000 (although in our case we have been advised by the FSA that it should come within £1500 as we are only a small company and we are only applying for a simplistic authorisation.
Being that we are, at present, a non-profit organisation, we are finding it very difficult to raise the necessary funds. We are therefore asking our readers to make a small donation (minimum £1) towards our authorisation fund.
We will keep this page updated regularly with our progress, and after the first donation we will keep a running total of money donated.
